When we started this last week I did it because it was something Deanne asked us to do. As I got going in the week I found I really liked it. This week I have found myself looking forward to a little quite time to sit, enjoy my meal and take a break from all the outside distractions. It is something I plan on continuing even after the challenge is over.
This from Suzanne: With this weeks challenge I noticed my eating time was shrinking in the am as I tried to get everyone ready for school. I've started dropping the kids off and then coming home to have a nice, quiet breakfast! Another thing I read was to not read the paper while you eat, no distractions! Suzanne Miller
Annie says: What I eat and time to prepare it is getting easier....the no distractions and making eating time last 15 minutes is very difficult....why even our Thanksgiving dinner last only 15 minutes! But I see the benefit in making eating a special time...go slow and enjoy it! Feel full when you are finished! I believe it is working....I am not wanting more than my portion and feel satisfied!
This week was a bit more challenging for me. I was out of town for the first part and came back to craziness. I wasn't as successful this week because I had so much going on. I did notice a big difference overall on the days I didn't sit down to no distractions and take the time to eat and relax. I definitely felt more satisfied and ate better on the days that I did slow down.
Janelle had this to add: Well this week sucked eggs for me. Even though I made a conscious effort to take my time eating and not eat out of containers, I found it incredibly difficult. My birth”day” turned into a birth”week” and I splurged a bit more then I should…oppps. No beating myself up. Instead, I am chalking it up t a much needed reprieve & now I must go at it hard again. Ready, set, go……..
