While Deanne was out last week...I attempted the CCC with some friends
We parked on the 101 by "the kook"
Hint: park just south of the kook on the 101 by turning left as you approach...
if you turn right you will have to drive for awhile before being able to U-turn.
And this is what we found...HIGH TIDE!
Because we are not easily deterred...
we decided we would run on the road and hit the stairs/ramp
from above.
Actually...we returned two days later and were able to run it on the beach.
I recommend taking the challenge from the beach rather than the road.

(just click on San Diego, check tides and it will show you when high tide is for the next
few days...pay attention to the little graph thingy at the top too because if it isn't all
the way up to the top...you may still have beach...like we did 2 days later.
Here are my other CCC tips:
1. There are 6 sets of stairs plus the ramp.
2. The first set of stairs by the kook COUNTS.
3. Less running if you do it from the beach.
4. You hit 5 sets before the ramp.
5. The last set of stairs is at SWAMI'S
(it's the stinky one cuz near the outhouse)
6. If you decide to do it from the road...you need to run inside the camp ground or you
will miss half of the stairs. They are quite close together.

I did the stairs just once each and the ramp 2x. I will go do it again...yes, I will.
FINAL TIP: Park far, far away from VG's!!
You DO NOT want to undo all of your CCC with the VG:)
