Heading into week 2

Hi everyone. I'm excited for our second workout tomorrow. My goal is to put you through a really touch cardio and strength circuit and burn at least 500 calories. It's supposed to be warm again tomorrow so dress accordingly and wear your sunscreen. Oh how the rest of the country must hate us right now :)

Hey by the way, I had the lemon herb crusted fish tonight. It's on your menu for Wednesday. The recipe says to use Tilapia but I got some wonderful white roughy from Ralphs. It was delicious. I highly recommend substituting this fish this week and the price was really good, about $4.99 a pound. Also, I got some great stone ground whole wheat bread crumbs with italian herb seasonings at Henry's and it was great in the recipe. I'll bring a package of the bread crumbs tomorrow to show you.

Get a good night sleep! Deanne

  1. Please tell me that "picture of the week" does not infer that our photographer is returning, yes? no? Not that she wasn't a nice person or anything. It's her equipment that bugs:)

  3. I didn't have any blueberries last week, so I used frozen cranberries. I added orange zest and vanilla extract to the fritatta and it had so much flavor. That is one of my favorite breakfasts right now. I'm glad it was on the menu several times last week.
I had so many thoughts and moments in week one where I wanted to talk to someone from bootcamp. I'm so happy we have a blog to turn to for encouragement and words of wisdom. Can't wait for you to kick my bootie today. I am most definitely wearing less clothes so I'm not so warm.

  4. Why can't I find the recipe for the protein shake using the choc. soy milk? Anyone? anyone?

  5. well that's a pretty picture. Are you kidding me?
I wasn't crazy about that avocado hummus I made today, but I think I'll add a mashed avocado to my regular hummus recipe. More protein, less fat and adding a veggie to an already good recipe. What brand of wheat tortilla do you suggest?
That's a good recipe Kath. I'd like to have that too if someone finds it.
I can already feel the effects of the suicide drills today. My quads are already quite sore.

  6. Bev (another Deanne client/nonbootcamper) gave me the recipe as follows:
    1 c ice
1 c light choc. soy milk
    1/2 frozen banana
    2 T Better n Peanut Butter

mix in blender, yum!!!! It makes a large portion but I have to admit wanting more and sucking it out of the bottom of the blender. yup! I'm like that.

Kathleen, I love that smoothie too. That will definitely be on one of your upcoming menus, though probably not on the bootcamp menus.
