Are You on the 10 Week Rapid Fat Loss Plan?

I'd like to use the blog this week to answer questions. Bootcampers will be using the next day or 2 to get organized for the nutrition plan. Please let me know what questions you have so far.

  1. I started yesterday on the rapid fat loss plan, not to lose weight, but because I know that I am addicted to sugar. Even though I followed the plan most of the day, I was hungry, tired, and my stomach hurt. Finally, at 8 pm, I "gave in" and ate pretzels. :-( I have "started over" again this morning eating low carb foods. I'm not giving up... quite yet. -Cassie

  2. Cassie, thanks for your honesty. I didn't notice myself hungry so make sure you are getting enough protein, veggies and healthy fats in each meal. Also increase your intake of water just a little. I kept confusing hunger with internal thirst. Try making one of the soups. They are really filling and satisfying. Also, the greek yogurt with protein powder and Better 'N Peanut Butter is really filling!!!! You may just need to play around with the options to find the foods with the best "FF" (fullness factor) for you. Plus, that Greek Yogurt Snack will give you the sweet option you are most likely craving. Oh yeah and if you need to eat something at 8pm, don't sweat it. Just pick something on the list that will give you some nutrients, instead of empty calories like pretzels (which are very highly processed and can lead to more cravings)

  5. So, this new rapid-loss program got me shopping a little different at the store this past week.

I experimented in the kitchen last night with eggplant for the first time. I am one of those people that throws things together
to see how they work. Well, this one worked!! I really enjoyed the flavors out of it and it follows your menu restrictions. So I thought
I would try to jot it down and throw it your way. Here goes:

    1 rotisserie chicken chopped up
1 large eggplant cut into bite-size pieces
    1 large onion sliced
6 roma tomatoes cut up bite-size
    3 cloves of garlic minced
A can of baby artichoke hearts chopped up
Can add other favorite vegatables. Just cook them in order of hardness.

The rest of these elements are too taste but this is about what I put in.

    1 cup of chicken stock
    1 cup dry white wine
    1/2 cup red-wine vinegar
    dried thyme to taste
    A couple of bay leaves
Red pepper flakes to taste (I put a fair bit in because I like spicey)
Salt and Pepper to taste. I didn't really put in salt since the stock took care of that

    olive oil
    butter

    - Heat up skillet with olive oil. Throw in cooked chicken and brown it up. Don't use a non-stick pan. The brown bits add flavor!
    - Remove chicken and set aside
    - Throw a couple of pats of butter into pan and saute garlic, onions and eggplant for about a minute or so
    - Throw in tomatoes and throw in a little more olive oil as needed. Cook another couple of min stirring a lot
    - Add parts of stock, wine and vinegar and start scraping bits off pan as liquids boil
    - Add chicken back to pan and spices to taste and simmer covered on medium about 15 min or so
    - Stir occasionally and add more of the liquids as the other boils off

    Serve and EAT!!!

  6. Wow. I love a guy who knows his way around a grocery store and the kitchen. Refreshing! Andy, I will for sure try this. I've never liked eggplant but this plan has gotten me to try some new foods. It's so easy to get into a rut! Thanks Andy.
