  1. The vegetable challenge made me recognize how little vegetables I am eating. To get through I made a large batch of the minestrone soup with kale and cabbage and ate that a lot for snacks etc. I also ate a whole spaghetti squash by myself many different ways so I could finish it.

  2. And...how are we all sleeping? Tis the season for no sleep, no time for workouts and eating poorly. May the force be with us all!! (Forever Fit force that is:)

  3. Veggies suck. Trying to get that many is near impossible. On a good realistic day (not when trying to meet a D challenge), I'll never get more than 5 servings. I was glad to learn that pizza sauce counts as one serving however! Super Greens are nasty. I recalled a veggie shot that is good, however, called Fruitasia ... just wish I had some on hand before that week challenge. So, I understand this gets me some points. Sweet!

  4. I am on a liquid diet because of jaw surgery so the vegetable thing was really a challenge. I have been drinking V8, Naked Juice Green Machine, and adding a complete food (with greens) into my protein shakes. I also put minestone soup into the blender until it was completely smooth.

  5. I thought the veggie challenge was a tough one...I could do the 1-2/meal but 2-3 and a total of 10?? I can't even keep that much produce on hand but I did continue taking a baggie stuffed with veggies to work with me, eggs over spinach for breakfast and reaching for the produce drawer for snacking rather than the pantry door was a good change too.

  6. Spinach for breakfast lunch and dinner to get in all the veggie servings in. At least my iron intake is in good shape!!!

  7. Great job teams! Last week I had a really tough time getting veggies at every meal. The fritatta in the morning made it easy for me to get them though, I just added spinach and broc and made enough for the whole week! Delicious!!

  8. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this holiday challenge!! It made me work a bit harder when competing against other teams!! It also allowed for me to get to know some of the girls better which always makes it more fun to work out, not that any of Deanne's workouts aren't more than spectacular

  9. The veggie challenge made me realize I don't get enough of them! I think my best strategy going forward is spinach in my eggs and Greens+ with oj. I also drink Bolthouse Green Goddess.

  10. The minestrone soup was a great way but my best tip: I washed and tore up a large Tupperware bowl full of mixed greens (spinach, romaine, red leaf etc) and almost every meal I put on a bed of leafy greens. That got me at least 2 extra serving a meal.

  11. Veggies...cut up lots of carrots and celery and keep them in bowl with water in frig. Also, ready to go lettuce, for quick salads.

  12. CARROTS! That's all I have to say! I got a large bag from Costco & grabbed a handful every time I walked by the fridge!

  13. When you work full time, veggies are hard to do. I have to say, thank goodness for ziploc baggies. I put carrots and tomatoes in a bag for breakfast everyday as I went to work. Ate salads for lunch. Wasn't as yummy as the good stuff I made during the summer, but way better than the conveniece eating I've been doing lately. Thanks, Deanne. Keep the challenges coming.

  14. The best way for me to add all those extra veggies is to have a bunch cut up and ready to grab to eat throughout the day. Having a soup ready for the week that is full of vegetables is one more way to have no excuses when it comes to getting them in.

  15. Veggies for breakfast is the only way I could get all 10 servings a day! It was a challenge but making sure my fridge is full and my pantry is bare really leaves me no choice!

  16. I love eating all these veggies!!! I got 6 servings a day 4 days in a row and felt great, but then I got behind on my grocery shopping and fell off the wagon. It's all about being prepared. My favorite breakfast was steamed zucchini and egg whites, sprinkled with low fat feta or salsa! Just bought some more zucchini and eggs today!

  17. My favorite part of the holiday challenge was that there were only one or two things to focus on each week (especially during such a crazy time of year.) I felt like I could handle that each week and I was successful in the challenges because I wasn't overwhelmed with too many things. I also loved being on a team because I often stuck to the challenge so as to not let my team down. I loved the past few weeks Deanne! Very fun!

  19. My favorite part of the Holiday Challenge was being part of a team. There were many days I know I wouldn't have pushed as hard for the bonus points if it was just about me (sad to say, but true). I am also thrilled that no sugar is part of this week's challenge - it will help me resist the grazing opportunities that seem to be presenting themselves by the hour!!

  20. What I liked most about the Holiday Challenge was making time to work out on a regular basis. Its amazing how much more one can get accomplished when a good work out is behind you. You ROCK Deanne, thanks for keeping it FUN!

  21. Favorite part of the challenge - being held accountable to others. It's been very motivating! It's one thing to let yourself down, but it's another thing to let a team down. Also loved all the new challenges! THANKS DEANNE!

  22. Favorite part of the challenge for me was being forced to do puke hill after an hour long workout! Getting in that extra run and calorie burn was pure gravy baby!

  23. I loved the lifestyle challenges during the Holiday Challenge. Because Deanne and my teammates were counting on me, it really helped with my self control. Not sure I could do that for anyone else. Thanks for keeping me fit and healthy!
